Make Your Own Salad Dressing

Nothing elevates a salad to “yum” status quite like a tasty 😋clingy dressing. Making your own salad dressing is a simple, cost effective, and a great way to control additives, like sugar and preservatives, that might be hiding in processed varieties. Follow this simple formula:

✅Fat – olive oil, avocado 🥑 oil, nut oil.

✅Acid – wine 🍷 vinegar, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar.

✅Seasoning – cumin, oregano, basil 🌿 , curry.

✅Flavor booster – hummus, mustard, maple syrup [just a touch👌🏻], tahini.

The addition of some maple syrup helps “quiet” the acid and allows you to use 🔽 less oil, helping control overall calories. Oil plays an important role in maximizing absorption of oil-soluble nutrients 💪🏻 in leafy greens [we’re talking to you vitamins A and K], but a little goes a long way.

Here are some ideas on how to use this formula:

Mediterranean Dressing

½ cup Hummus

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

1/3 cup Vinegar

¼ tsp Cumin

2 Tbsp Tahini

Maple Mustard

¼ cup Olive Oil

2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

1 Tbsp Maple Syrup

1 tsp Dijon Mustard

Tahini Curry

1/3 cup Tahini

½ cup Water

¼ cup Lemon Juice

1 Tbsp Curry Powder

1 Tbsp Maple Syrup

Lemon Thyme Vinaigrette

3 Tbsp olive oil

2 tsp Dijon Mustard

1 ½ Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar

1 Lemon, Juice & Zest

1 tsp Thyme, dried

Salt & Pepper to taste

Champagne Vinaigrette

1 Tbsp Olive oil

1 Tbsp Champagne Vinegar

1 ½ tsp Honey

1 Tbsp Orange Juice

Salt & Pepper to taste

Creamy Cashew Dressing

½ cup Cashews

½ cup Water

¼ cup Olive Oil

1 Tbsp Taco Seasoning

1 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar

2 Tbsp Cilantro, fresh

½ Lime, Juiced

Salt & Pepper to taste

*blend all ingredients in a food processor
