A Better Way

Podcast Review Of The Week (1)

Kaizen Nutrition & Wellness began with a question – “how to provide accessible, integrative and functional healthcare that addresses the root cause of symptoms, primarily using food as medicine to support healing?”

We know first-hand that it can be frustrating to bounce from practitioner to practitioner with bits and pieces, but no real eye on the overall wellness plan, or improvement in symptoms.

We are here to pull it all together and support your body’s natural ability to heal with food.

We are committed to helping you not only slow or stop the progression of degenerative disease, but inspire you to create an intentional outcome with your health by utilizing a root-cause approach.

It Is Time To Look At Things Differently

Dr. Mark Hyman, a leader in Functional Medicine and best selling author has described a traditional healthcare approach as telling us the what, whereas functional practice tells us the why, and by empowering people with the tools and knowledge and information they need, they can get healthy.

We Couldn't Agree More!

A traditional approach to health care involves evaluation of Symptom A + Symptom B = Diagnosis C.  We are then provided information on treating Diagnosis C.  We may feel better temporarily but have not really resolved the problem.

Instead, let’s start with Diagnosis C and work backward to determine the root cause of Symptom A and Symptom B.  Now, we can really begin to improve our health primarily using food as medicine.  This is functional practice, and we offer both Nutrition Consultations and Health Coaching sessions to empower you to create an intentional outcome with your health.

Key to the process of improving your health is identifying the root causes of an imbalance.  Nutrition is a critical component of an integrative approach to health.

With a focus on the importance of high quality foods, nutrient diversity and gut health, we can work together to address clinical imbalances and improve your health.  The result is a personalized intervention created to promote optimal health and prevent diet and lifestyle related diseases.

Are You A Good Candidate For Functional Nutrition?

The answer is a resounding, YES!  Anyone and everyone is an excellent candidate for a functional, root cause approach to healing, managing symptoms, and improving your quality of life.  Some of the reasons people seek out an integrative and functional nutrition approach are because they:

  • have received a diagnosis and wish to maximize their healing and symptom management potential;

  • have symptoms that have been steadily getting worse over time resulting in chronic pain, stiffness and even additional diagnoses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, arthritis, or autoimmune conditions;

  • have been seen by a variety of healthcare practitioners and have not yet been able to identify the root cause of the symptoms through traditional labs or scans;

  • have a recent diagnosis of IBS, Crohn’s, Celiac Disease, SIBO, chronic constipation or other GI condition with limited, sporadic, or no symptom relief;

  • a history of yeast infections or thrush, constant stuffy nose or allergies;

  • feeling of fatigue, depression, poor memory, concentration or insomnia;

  • have difficulty losing weight and keeping it off.

and the list goes on!

We are excited to offer a unique integrative and functional nutrition approach that is appropriate for all conditions and symptoms ranging from gastrointestinal, to cardiovascular, autoimmune, neurological, hormonal, anxiety, and more.  Often when clients come to us, they are frustrated with a lack of support, compassionate care, and targeted strategies to help them start the healing process.  Unfortunately, we sometimes hear that clients have been told their symptoms “are all in their head” and yet, we are able to find gut imbalances or nutrient deficiencies that contribute directly to their symptoms.

Maybe you feel that you eat pretty well and know what you need to do, and just need a little accountability to help you reach your goals.  Short health coaching sessions can facilitate development of those small measurable goals.

For those who are more independent that want to learn online, we even have options for you through our online learning platform.  There is so much to learn in health and nutrition, and the science is continually evolving, so for those who just love learning or gaining information that will help achieve optimal health, we have an option for you.

For those that love data and are test junkies (you know who you are) we have a wide variety of testing options for you.  We do not believe in being a barrier to getting the testing you wish to have, and nutrition consults are not required to order any tests, however a free 15-minute exploratory call is recommended to accurately complete a testing requisition form.  Visit our appointment page to schedule your call.

In short, we have something for everyone!

Yes!  If you are interested in working with us we can call to verify your insurance benefits for you.   Your insurance claims will be filed for you as well.

Nutrition consultations using insurance must meet in-person and Telehealth services will not be reimbursed by your insurance company, EXCEPT in cases of national emergency such as covid-19.

Clients who are paying out-of-pocket for nutrition consultations may use a secure telehealth option.

Health coaching is not currently reimbursed by insurance companies, and has the option to use telehealth as well.

Our telehealth services are offered through an electronic health record called, Healthie.  Once an appointment is scheduled, Healthie will prompt you to complete intake paperwork, and remind you when there is an upcoming appointment.  To access the secure video consult, click on your appointment and join the call.  Healthie offers more functionality when viewing from a computer, but an app version is also available.  The website for login and access to your electronic health record is www.gethealthie.com.

Visit the Appointment page to learn more about the appointment types offered.  If you do not find an option that works well for you, let’s talk about your needs and come up with a custom option.  A FREE 15-minutes exploratory call is a good way to get started!  For a la carte testing options visit the products page.
